Witnesses: Why The 1/19/14 WT Lesson Is Dangerous

today's watchtower lesson touched on the history of hezekiah's reign, and then made a surprising modern-day application.

having used my time before the meeting to research the underlying material instead of highlighting my magazine, i personally found this to be an upsetting study, and decided to put this warning here in the hopes that some active witnesses read it.. the most important thing i want to say to you is that the actual flow of events in this bible account were severely misrepresented, and that there are some disturbing implications in the distortions that were made.

1. hezekiah's father ahaz makes himself a vassal to assyria out of fear of their overwhelming might (2 kings 16:7, 8).. 2. upon becoming king, hezekiah rebels against assyria (2 kings 18:7).

Luv this: "Ask yourself: can I really trust seemingly-illogical instructions from the organization IF....

I cannot trust them to summarize a simple Bible account clearly and honestly?"

This hits the nail on the head.. "TRUST..."

Can you trust the WTBS IF they tell you taking a kidney transplant is wrong and you die.......

THEN they tell you "it's ok now".... ??? True, very illogical... but we SHOULD trust them....

OR

IF they tell you "We are disfellowshipping you for taking a kidney transplant"

THEN the day after they DF you for taking the kidney, they "Power Ranger up" find out from Holy Spirit that "it's ok now"

They will not reinstate you until you have been DF'd for a year, come crawling back, begging, pleading, sitting silently with head bowed, repenting for doing what the Power Rangers then decide is OK now...

Very illogical, but you shouuuuuuuld trust them, riiiight? After all, like they said "obey any instructions 'you' may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not."

and, since it doesn't seem logical.... better to obey than take a chance and think!

The eldaaaars again!!

after two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.

he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).

he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.

i agree, give them nothing. You owe them nothing, but they WILL take everything from you!

You may not thinkit possible, but they do have one goal: To see if you are apostate, and if you ARE? Take you down.

That's it... Take you down. Two witnesses, and hasta la vista.

Already, they have put you in a tight spot, pushed you beyond where you wanted to be. You are explaining things to your dad, perhaps before he was ready... maybe before you were ready? Maybe you couldn't be relaxed, and had to be on the defense?

My mother can only repeat mantras "You haven't been to meetings in two years, you left Jehovah's organization." Even tho bad things have happened to me, she won't listen to me, others have gotten to her first... Those talks at the DC did their jobs... "Do you look for excuses to talk to family members who don't associate?"

I really would follow the advice of so many others and TEXT: "Can't make it today" ...

No explanation (so they can't use your "written text" against you) & can't assign motives. Then, like all the others have said, "just don't reply."

I hope it works out well for you, losing family is very, very hard. (You don't think it will happen, but it does, it has... They "know you are a good person, loving, truthful," right? )

Just text.... then drive.... drive on with your life

our state lotto started today, and i won 15 dollars, and only bought 1 $1 card.

so whoop whoop for gambling.. i was in miami florida last week for the photoshop world conference, but i also got to tour the everglades, where i took some beautiful pictures.

suggestions for elder a nd co visit

getting a visit tommorow our kids that are in are concerned as to why we are missing meetings.

our family is basically ignored by the congregation long story we just don't want to go anymore.

i have told the kids how rotten i have been treated and also i have had some seriou health issues but you know you should still be at the meetings.

Try to use your time getting close to your kids, having funtimes!

Creating good memories :-) Close bonds will be a factor for the future.

Maybe some of your 'cult minded 3' stay in because of friends??

If their friends leave, or circumstances change in the congregation, they'll still have YOU!

One day at a time, and give yourself time to heal.
